Welcome to OST 2455C – Medical Billing II. I look forward to working with you throughout the course.
Course Description
This course provides extended knowledge and skills needed to work in a
variety of medical billing and coding positions in the medical field. Topics
include medical coding, medical claims, medical billing, accounts receivable,
and medical management software.Required Textbook

General Course Outcomes
Unit 1: The student shall: understand the knowledge and skills required to accurately submit claims for full reimbursement to the physician.
Unit 2: The student shall: understand the different
issues involved with hospital billing versus medical office billing and the
need for a follow-up and collection procedure.
Unit 3: The student shall: gain knowledge and
understanding of the Medicare program.
Unit 4: The student shall: gain knowledge and
understanding of the Medicaid program.
Unit 5: The student shall: gain knowledge and understanding of the TRICARE program.
Unit 8: The student shall: gain in-depth knowledge of federal and state worker’ compensation programs.
Unit 9: The student shall: gain skill in using
medical office management software.
